Inlays are a good choice for conservative restorations that are within the biting surface of the tooth. Dental onlays are used when damage to the teeth extends beyond the surface to one or more cusps, or covers a wider and more extensive area. Each onlay is custom-made to cover and replace damaged cusps, and they can extend beyond the biting surface and sides of the tooth. This makes onlays suitable for restorations that are more extensive, offering more coverage compared to inlays.
